Automatically heating hot water cylinder when temp is low

Hi All,

I am looking for some advice as the title really. Is it possible to configure Evohome to automatically heat the hot water cylinder when the temperature reaches a certain low level?

Thanks

evohome has the capability to be programmed with an 'differential' before reheat of the cylinder commences, however the maximum this can be set to is 10 deg C. So a 60 deg C set temp would have to fall below 50 deg C before it would come back on.

I hope that helps.

Evohome will automatically reheat the DHW if the temperature drops below a low threshold, similar to frost protection.

During the winter I’ve seen it kick-in, even when scheduled Off, heating from a displayed temperature of around 14C to 25C.

evohome will only reheat a cylinder when it is scheduled to do so. The only time it would ever heat the cylinder without schedule, is if it thought the cylinder was at risk of freezing.

This describes exactly what I've seen my Evohome system doing. During a very cold January the boiler would start up and open the hot water valve for 30 minutes or so, bringing the tank up to maybe 25C or thereabouts, well below its set point. Now that the temperature is well above zero this behaviour has stopped. Looks like there is an undocumented frost / freeze protect feature in the Evohome software. If so, it's fine, no problem.

Anyone seen any reference to this in the (cryptic) instructions?

I leave my hot water on during the day.The reality is the boiler will only fire when it needs to.It rarely fires up during the day. I have hot water priority enabled so when everyone starts having showers it keeps the water at a usable temperature.
