Does anyone know why the manual states the ATF600 must be installed in a 47mm plastic back box.
Plastic boxes are only available for dry liners, not brick walls
I see no reason why a metal earth box would not be fine, but stand to be corrected, anyone know why

Re: ATF600 Back Box
Hi Paul,
RF signal cannot pass through metallic objects, therefore Honeywell stipulate no metallic back boxes behind any of their RF devices.
In my house I used wall mounted, plastic single gang boxes in the wall instead of metal ones where there were RF devices going into them. Just make sure the box you choose is made of a resilient plastic, not the hard plastic like the manufacturer 'Click' use, which is brittle.
I hope that helps.
