Re: Hot water kit to control immersion heater?
OK thanks. That would explain why I couldn't figure it out from the installation manual

Hot water kit to control immersion heater?
Having re-installed mum's S Plan Evohome kit into her new house that has a combi boiler, I'm left with an unneeded hot water kit.
My Evohome setup is on an older oil-fired system boiler, which isn't plumbed to the hot water tank. Tank is immersion only, controlled by an old timer.
I'm wondering if ...

Re: Combi boiler with existing 2 zone heating
OK thanks. I'll stick with disconnecting the valves.
Good point on the bypass. I guess the heating chap who did the inspection was just playing it safe.

Re: Combi boiler with existing 2 zone heating
Thanks.
Yes, it's an Ideal Logic combi - I'll have to google OpenTherm.
I assumed that the boiler would have an internal bypass valve, but the chap who came to check out the heating system before the move insisted that it should be left with one open radiator (despite it already having mechanical ...

Combi boiler with existing 2 zone heating
I'm removing the Evohome kit from mum's house as she is moving next week (mum bought the kit from The Evohome Shop a few months ago). I'll be reinstalling it in the new house, which has a combi boiler and two heating zones.
I've had a good look at how the "new" house is set up. Ideal combi in the ...

Warranty and Support Transferrable?
Having fitted an Evohome setup in my own house last year, I did the same at mum's house. She purchased the kit from here herself (a couple of months ago), an electrician did the wiring, and I set up the system.
She has decided to move into a retirement apartment with electric heating. Her house is ...

Re: Boiler got out of sync with controller schedule
OK, I'll try moving the relay to the left a bit.
Just to clarify, the Evotouch controller is directly behind me from where I was standing to take the photo, so no metal between the 2 devices

Re: Boiler got out of sync with controller schedule
Comms check on the BDR91 gives 3 flashes, and everything seems to have worked fine - except for on that one occasion.
The Evohome controller is at the other end of the house, about 14 metres away, but there is "line of sight" between the controller and relay, through 2 wooden doors along the hallway.
