New install - newbie question

We're fitting a new boiler and reconfiguring radiator layouts in a house we just bought and will be moving into soon (luxury for once .. not renovating what I'm already living in - yet).

The system have a new WB 42 CDi and the evohome kit should arrive today and all the installation should happen next week. My question is: I don't have broadband installed currently and hadn't planned on it for at least another month. I appreciate this might seem a trivial question but, other than the fact I won't be able to control the system remotely are there any other considerations?

My plan was to get the system installed, commissioned and set up then purely control it from the controller until my Broadband gets installed (late Feb/early March).

Firstly thanks for your order.

The evohome system is stand alone and does not require broadband for it to operate. The Wi-Fi connection is only used for updates and the app connection.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,

Richard

New heating system installed last week, Evohome added and running on Monday. Seems to be running very well, just down to a learning exercise on my behalf now.

I have a couple of questions.

1: I think I read it only polls the TRV controllers once every four minutes (to save battery). This means there can be a bit of a lag in getting the rad warming up, but only trivial (a few mins) on average.. Have I got that correct?

2: I turned system off with the quick task. It seems that the wireless relay box takes several minutes to inform the boiler. I think maybe 20 mins. Is that correct or have I done something wrong? Can it be altered?

3: The TRV controllers display the set temperature. Is it possible to change that to what they are sensing? I can't find this in the user guide, perhaps it is documented elsewhere.

Thank you, robin

Hi, a short response to your last post:

1. Yes that is the case there can be a delay in the two units communicating.
2. Someone more qualified than me will respond I and sure.
3. In the "HR92 installation guide", section 5- Basic Settings, there is a list of the various user configured options and No 7 changes the display from Set temp to Sensed temp. If you don't have these instructions they are available online, search for HR92 installation guide.
This section also has instructions as to how these settings are accessed, and also tells you what the factory defaults are.
