Upgrade to openthern

I have an ideal logic + which is prewired for opentherm. It currently has the standard evohome wireless receiver. To upgrade to opentherm do I need to remove the current receiver and install the opentherm, or can I leave in the standard receiver.

230v relay is removed and OpenTherm Bridge fitted and bound to the evohome Controller... 8-)
