Hi,
I am just about to buy a Worcester Bosch boiler, Honeywell EVO home and hot water underfloor heating. I am clear on the boiler needed but I am not clear if EVO home will work with any hot water under floor heating kit. When I look at the many sites across the internet I see the thermostat promoted by most sites is Heatmiser either wireless or fixed controls.
I understand Honeywell offer a 5 zone kit for around £260 but I need the following questions answered:
1) Firstly can I buy any underfloor heating kit (UFH direct, Underfloor heating company, etc...) and then add on the Honeywell controller
2) If yes, do I just need the pipe, manifold & pump station and then get the wireless kit from honey well
3) Regarding the Honeywell kit, as I only have one unfloor heating zone, do I need to pay £260 for HCC80R or is there another way of doing it so it will work with EVO home?
Sorry for all the questions, I am new to this.
Best regards,
Chris
EVO Home with underfloor heating
Re: EVO Home with underfloor heating
Hi Chris,
Well firstly I wouldn't fit Worcester as it is not an OpenTherm compatible boiler and won't work best with the evohome system. I would look at OpenTherm compatible boilers such as Intergas, Ideal, Viessmann or Vokera.
If you have 1x zone of UFH then you can get away with 1x BDR91 operating the UFH zone valve/pump & 1x zone thermostat such as T87RF or DTS92E. Buy all the UFH bits except the controller/thermostat from the UFH supplier.
I hope that helps.
Kind regards,
Richard

Re: EVO Home with underfloor heating
Richard,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
Of the boilers recommended, which one would you go for? Intergas?
Regarding the underfloor heating, any recommendations on where to buy from and which one to go for?
Each site I look at that, all promote Heatmiser. I just want to buy one that will work with Honeywell Evo home.
Regards,
Chris

Re: EVO Home with underfloor heating
Hi Chris,
Intergas is an amazing boiler (we will be selling these shortly), however there are some known issues with evohome in multi zoning mode using the R8810 OpenTherm Bridge and the Intergas OpenTherm connection. The guys at Intergas know of the issue and are resolving it (I believe they are very close to a solution).
However, because of this issue right now if you are multi zoning with evohome then I know this has been successfully implemented with Ideal Logic+ & Vogue, so Ideal would be my recommendation.
As for UFH, these guys seem very competative on price - http://underfloorparts.co.uk/
You literally just need all the bits except the control and the thermostat.
I hope that helps.
