HCC100 Water Temperature Connections

Post by Rupes »

I’m thinking of getting an HCC100 to replace an existing JG unit to control my underfloor heating and to integrate better with my existing Evohome system and my newish heat pump.

I was thinking it should be a fairly straightforward swap but I see that there are a few connections on the HCC100 that I don’t have on my current unit.

E.g. Flow and return temp sensors, humidity, outdoor temp, opentherm, heat/cool switchover.

Are these all optional or are any required to make it work? I can’t seem to find any installer instructions online.

All I have now are connections for the thermostats, actuators, heat pump, circulation pump.

The HCC100 can be used as a stand alone item in different Resideo systems, so all these are not applicable with evohome.

Thanks. A couple more questions:

Will this unit work with any 230v on/off actuator (i.e. the ones I have already)? The installation instructions talk specifically about the honeywell actuators.

Is the Resideo Pro app required to set up the HCC100? The app seems to be designed exclusively for installers (requires company registration). I’m just a homeowner - I’m quite capable of installing and configuring this device myself - unless prevented from doing so by an app that I’m not allowed to register for - the hassle and expense of finding a suitable and reliable installer would completely negate the benefit of upgrading to one of these.

If you use existing 3rd 230v party actuators and they blow up the HCC100, as per Resideo's T&C's of the 5 year warranty, the warranty would be invalidated (hence we state new Resideo thermal actuators should be used - https://thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/pr ... -controls/).

The Resideo Pro App is required for setup, but if you buy all your products from us, you can use our login to setup the HCC100 - https://thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/pr ... e-evohome/
