Communication with system lost

Hello all, I had had Evohome up and running for a couple years and connected to system / phone app with no issues. I needed to rebind a digital thermostat (DR92) as the digital thermostat was connected to BDR and feeding beck temperature to the Evohome base control however couldn’t change / initiate temp change from the base unit.

In summary I managed to unbind and bind correctly 1. First connect the thermostat and 2. Control base to BDR (in the order).

My issue is ever since my base unit has red triangles and indicating lost comms with the system. Likewise the app doesn’t work for remote control. All this was fine before and really thought BDR/thermostat binding don’t have an impact on the comms with the system.

I have tried rebooting router, changing batteries and logging on and off my account (and downloading app to another phone). Heating controls work as per schedule therefore looking to resolve the comms to system issue.

Does anyone know of this issue and how to resolve

Hello,

I have the same problem. It all started a month ago, not sure if any rebinding has taken place though.
My problem is that the evohome controller can no longer connect to local wifi - it can't even detect any of the available 2.4 Ghz networks anymore.
I have reported this to Resideo, and they said that the wifi module has failed and the whole unit needs to be replaced.

Any self service steps to replace wifi module, reflash firmware, etc are more than welcome, since Resideo are not willing to replace my controller under warranty (more than 4 years old now, bought before the 5-yrs warranty was introduced).

Despite several years experience with Evohome mine has reached end-of-life status

App reports no connection to my location or devices..
Reinstalling and Re Registering cannot be achieved. "error message = contact Resideo"
Not even the Resideo Support system is working. Error message "try again later"

Any others in the same boat?

How old is the system? I have a 2014 non-Wi-Fi model working fine here?
