HR92 temperature offset
To calibrate the temperature detected by the hr92 valve with that of a thermometer, is it advisable for the radiators to be turned off or on?

The temperature of my room is 20 degrees celsius.
The temperature shown by the HR92 valve is 23 degrees celsius.
By setting an offset of -3 the temperature displayed by the valve shows 20 degrees like the room thermometer.
If the programmed temperature is 21 degrees, will the valve close because it is lower than 23 degrees or will it remain open because it is higher than 20 degrees?

If the HR92 isn't showing the correct temp to the room, then we normally advise you add a room thermostat (as the sensor for the room) to represent the air temp better (such as DT4R - https://thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/pr ... ermostats/)

I calibrated all of my HR92's with the radiators off and using the same thermometer. Make sure to leave the thermometer in the room to settle before you use it for calibration.
I placed a small digital thermometer on top of each HR92 for several hours and that is how I was able to decide on the offset for each. I believe all but one HR92 required offset adjustment and even Evotouch needed -2c calibration to match the thermometer place at the same height on the mantlepiece.
Unfortunately the HR92 can only be offset in increments of 1c, which can mean some will still either read over or below the actual room temperature by 0.5c, which you need to remember when setting the room temperature.
I have one room with an awkwardly placed HR92, so I have added a Y87RF as a remote sensor placed at 5ft on the wall, which I believe is the optimum height for a thermostat.
Good look with setting your offset.

Initially I also followed the same procedure.
Unfortunately, the calibration with the radiators turned off proved to be ineffective for me .
With the radiators in operation, the difference between the temperature detected by the HR92 valve and that of the room thermometer tends to increase: my radiators are all placed under shelves and the difference in the valve temperature is therefore higher than that of the room .
By carrying out the offset measurement with the radiators on, I obtained a greater correspondence between the temperature detected by the HR92 valve and that of the environment.
But the question I asked is another and concerns the functioning of the valve:
Regardless of the method used to calculate the offset, does the valve use the initial value (without offset) or the modified one (with offset) to establish how to modify the flow of water inside the radiator?
Example with offset 0.
Suppose that the temperature detected by the valve is 24 degrees Celsius and that the programmed temperature is 22 degrees: in this situation the valve stops the heat supply (closes completely) because the programmed temperature (22) is lower than the detected one (24).
Example with offset -3.
The temperature shown on the valve display is now 21 degrees Celsius (24-3): the valve allows heat to be supplied because is the programmed temperature (22) higher than the detected one (21)?

Hi,
In my opinion, HR92 calibration should only be performed with the heating on. Why? It is usually warmer near a hot radiator than in the interior of the room. In such a situation, the offset is to allow the room to be heated up by preventing the thermostatic valve from closing too quickly.
