Today, I switched on the heating for the first time in five months, following an unusually warm summer. Unfortunately, one of the HR92 valves was completely unresponsive. I forgot to replace the batteries back in August, allowing the valve to completely shut off. Even with new batteries, it remains unresponsive. Is there a method to revive it?

Remove the HR92 head, take the batteries out, clean the battery contacts top and bottom (sometimes needs a scrape if the residue has gone hard). Whilst you're at it, gently push the bottom battery contacts (bendy metal bits) upwards with a screwdriver so you get a better contact on the batteries. Put batteries back in and give it a go. I've had to do this on all of my HR92s over the years.
