HR80/91/92 Baseplate pin fault?

Following on from hot summer 'evets' (as they call them these days) I have had 4 or 5 controllers HR80 & HR91/92
come up with operating faults that seem to be related. I find the baseplate actuator pin is loose in the centre bush.

Consequently the demand is not met as the actuator pin slips in the adaptor bush during valve operation.
I have checked a few good ones and find them tight/fixed(?). I didn't push too hard to avoid adding another to the pile.

My question is....should the valve baseplate pins be a) tight fixed or b) an interference fit ?

An interference fit would provide a "clutch fail safe" should the final rad valve fail fully open.

Repositioning and supergluing the pin would restore a fixed mode (a) but at the risk of loosing a clutch failsafe.

Anybody else with a similar problem?

New valve baseplate adaptors (50064648-001) seem to be out of stock everywhere these days.

Baseplate pins have always been loose. Not an issue.

There is only 4mm of travel in any case and on most TRV's when they are screwed on 1-2mm.
