DTS92E add to existing system

Post by pseddon »

I have been using an Evohome system with 8 zones, HR92 Radiator stats, boiler relay box BDR91 for a few years now and it has given me good service. I decided the lounge zone could do with a room thermostat so bought a DTS92E1020 in the hope that I could get it to override the HR92 temperature setting. In the lounge I have 3-HR92's.

First problem - I cannot get the DTS92 to bind or rather I have no evidence that it has bound. Are there any good step by step instructions as to how to do this? Can I do it by modifying the existing lounge zone? Do I have to delete the connected HR92's?

Secondly I have read that I will have to rebind the existing HR92's after binding the DTS92 to ensure it the temperature setting device. Is that correct and how do I delete those devices without losing the whole zone?

Hope someone can help me!

Go to the zone configuration, choose DTS92E as the sensor and bind there:

There's no need to rebind the existing HR92s.

Hopefully you got this sorted. But in case anyone else visits here, my own experience of binding a DTS92 is that the Evohome controller needs to be a short distance away from the thermostat - say 1m. If they are too close, the controller will say it's bound but the DTS92 will remain at "COnt". You know it's bound correctly when it switches to "54nc" (ie "SYnc"), and you need to let it finish synchronising which can take a minute or two.
