How to connect T87RF to zone with current HR92

Post by alisonmb7 »

I've now bought a T87RF to go in my kitchen but all you tube videos seem to have an different menu screen than my control panel. I think I have got it to bind to the control panel but it doesn't seem to over-ride the radiator HR92.

I want it to control the temperature in the central part of the room because the radiator is under a bench - so when the radiator gets up to 20C the rest of the room is only 17C. Detailed instructions would be good - not the 'put other rf device into binding mode - see instructions with other rf device' on the instruction sheet! Do I need to bind the T87RF to the HR92? Etc.

Anyone done this? Thanks.

Have you tried a temperature offset of -3 degrees on the HR92?

To connect the T87RF, you need to bind it in the zone configuration:

Thanks so much for your reply. I don't know how to do an offset, could you tell me how? I think that is what I did with the binding. I'm still not sure if it has worked, but the control panel is displaying the room temperature that the t87rf says. It also might be firing the boiler for longer (because I suspect the room temperature on the hr92 is much higher than the control panel allows). This would all be good except the boiler does seem to switch off when the t87rf gets to about 1C of the target! I cannot work out if these are rounding errors in the two machines or if the hr92 takes control! I'm going to see how it goes then I might delete the zone, clear the bindings and start again.

Temperature offset on the HR92 is parameter 8, and to change you press and hold the rectangular button/bar on the HR92 for 5 seconds:

Try changing the temperature on the T87RF and if the Controller reflects the dialed temperature for that zone then the binding has worked.
