We've had the Evohome system for a year now and have had no problems with the valves at all *except* for the one in our shower/wet room: two radiator valves have failed so far. I thought it would be OK as there is good ventilation via an extractor fan and the radiator is well away from direct contact with water, but I bought a humidity meter and it reads 99% immediately after a shower.

Has anyone else had issues in humid rooms?

Yep, not many electronic items like wet rooms. HR91 (https://theevohomeshop.co.uk/55-radiator-controllers) would be better than HR92, but still will encounter some sort of issues at constant 99% RH unfortunately.

Thanks for the response. I would be happy with an old-fashioned (i.e. non-electronic - using wax?) valve. Although this would work fine in winter when the GCH is on a lot of the time, it won't work in summer when the smart valves aren't triggering the boiler.

Is there any way to tell the evohome system "deliver hot water to the radiators at these times even if all the electronic valves are off"?

Hi David,

In my professional opinion, towel radiators should only be part of a heating circuit during the winter months anyway and I would control them via a liquid expansion TRV (or with correct balanced manual valves). In summertime, they should be electrically heated, as it is very inefficient for a gas boiler to just heat a towel radiator during the summer months and this causes the boiler an immense amount of cycling/wear and tear. Hence, dual fuel towel radiators exist.
