2nd hce80 not triggering boiler relay

Hi I have a new ufh system with 2 manifolds and two hce80’s the boiler is at one end of the house the main controller and 1st hce80 are in the middle and the 2nd hce80 is at the opposite end of house to boiler,

The first ufh80 works great, the trouble is with the second one, the controller triggers the zones correctly and actuators work and pump turns on but it doesn’t trigger the boiler relay on any of the zones connected to it.

My question is why? Is the hce80 talking direct to the boiler relay and the distance is too great or is boiler relay triggered from central controller which is what I think is happening. If the latter any ideas why boiler is not triggered from second hce80?

Mark.

If you have bound it all correctly, the zone sensor (T87RF, DTS92E, etc) and HCE80/HCC80 UFH Controller talks to the evohome Controller and then the evohome Controller communicates with the BDR91.

yep it was all bound correctly and I was 99% sure that all comms goes via the controller and then onto the BDR91 but this was the first time I had used multiple HCE80's on a job and some of the instructions were not 100% clear such as the external aerial, can you have 2 HCE80's each with an external aerial or do you have to wire them together using a single one for example.

Advice on another forum was to upgrade the firmware as it was old to get better diagnostics but the upgrade solved the problem and it started to work as I would have expected as soo as it was upgraded.

You can run multiple HCE80 UFH Controllers off the same aerial or you can wire them individually. Alternatively, you can remove the aerial pcb from the HRA80 and plug it directly into the HCE80 and turn it into a HCC80R.

Glad the firmware update has remedied your problems though. 8-)

Hi, how do I remove the external antenna module and fit it in the hce80?
