Hey guys,

I've pushed the button and bought a full evohome kit for my new house and did so ahead of checking how to wire in the the various bits to the boiler.

Simple question as i'm struggling to find answers
1) Are they compatible from what you guys know
2) Does anyone have any instructions/help they can offer any advice on how to wire in the boiler controls?

But yes, although WB is not the best boiler to work with the evohome system it will certainly be compatible.

Apologies for the basic question, would i be right in thinking that with an EvoHome controller I should be wiring it in as a single 'Room Thermostat only' ? That way it'll click on and off as the system tells it to and the evo-home will control the room by room via. radiator valves...?

I have a Worcester oil fired standard boiler and purchased a complete kit including hot water.

Previously my boiler was using an inbuilt timer.

I took the boiler back to standard wiring, I tested this by powering it up and it fired immediately so I knew I had a good starting point.

I then followed the wiring in the Evohome install guide, my set up has a 3 port valve. I set up the controller, the relays,tank sensor and radiator valves stand alone to make sure everything was working fine.

I already had a wiring centre but I purchased a new one made by Wago, the beauty of these is all the connections are quick release. You can't work to the exact number connections and you have to use the ones that suit the number of connections. I wrote up a translation chart.

In my setup it's the 3 port valve that fires the boiler and the pump, the set up was pretty easy and works fine. I made a note of all the original connections and noted them down as I disconnected. This way I could go back if I had to.

As I had already configured everything stand alone then the switch over took me no time at all.

One thing I would recommend is don't stress too much about room names, just bind the radiator valves in a logical order even if the names don't match the rooms. That way if you have go through and do them again you aren't walking back and forth. Once the valves are bound if you press the right hand button on a valve once briefly you will get a message on the controller telling you which radiator it is, then you can rename if you have too.

I have rung Resideo/Evohome support since I got mine and got through to someone immediately who was answer the questions I had so don't forget about them.
