Google Assistant Problem

I've got the weirdest problem with EvoHome and my Google Assistant and it goes like this;

Disable WiFi on my phone, use mobile data and tell Google Assistant to change the temp of a room. All works as it should, no problem.

However, if I try to use any of my Google Home hubs (which are connected via WiFi to my home LAN via an Asus router and VirginMedia as my ISP) to change the temp in any room I simply get "Sorry, I couldn't reach Honeywell Total Connect Comfort International, please try again".

Over this same network I can; connect to the Total Connect Comfort website through a browser on my PC, I can use the Android app on my phone to adjust the temps and I can get Google Assistant to sync the devices but if I try to adjust the temps with Assistant it simply refuses to work.

I've tried disabling the firewall on the router, reconnecting the device in Google Home, unlinking and relinking the device in Google Home, nothing will fix it.

Oh, and just to rub salt in the wounds, Google Assistant has no issues telling me what the temp of a room is if I ask it.

Has anyone experienced this and resolved it?
