Hot water coming on randomly

Hot water coming on randomly

The installation has been working well for several years. The problem I have now is the hot water coming on with the central heating is switched on but the hot water is switched off. There is one or two type AA batteries on a flying lead near the hot water cylinder but I’m not sure of their purpose. Can anyone help please?

Its probably the CS92A? Batteries need changing annually.
