Evohome HR92 setup with single zone valve

Post by Coggin »

Hi there, I’m new to this forum and this is my first post. I’m hoping it’s a relatively easy one!...

Although familiar with the setup and programming of the evohome system I have never setup the HR92s TRV valves. I have 5 valves in separate rooms and I want them to be able to independently switch the single BDR91 and associated zone valve for the heating system. is this even possible?

I added the valves to the controller so they appear as separate zones and I can see the relevant temp of each HR92 I.e lounge, dining room, bedroom etc. This all works in that they close down depending on temp, but they don’t control the boiler and only the primary controller currently switches the zone valve. From reading notes on the Honeywell site, it appears that I could add all the HR92s to a single zone on the controller and this would allow switching of the boiler, however I would lose visibility on the programmer of the different rooms. Does this mean that I would need to have a separate BDR91 and zone valve for each room?

Any advice comments much appreciated.

Cheers
Andy

Your BDR91 should be wired to your boiler in place of the wired thermostat you may have had previously. You should then set your boiler controller to have the heating on 24/7. The zone valve will then be open all of the time except when your DHW demands.
