Hi,

I currently have two zones living room and dining room, but an open planned living space.

What can happen is that one floor area heats up and the other doesn't, as each competes to heat the space.

At this time the two areas are controlled via 2 x T87RF Wireless Room Thermostats.

What I would like to do is join the two zones to just one thermostat, which I think will help the problem.

This might become a wider question / answer, but do you know how best to achieve this?

Ive only recently installed evohome a week ago, and loving the results.

Im sure some more experienced people will have many suggestions, but here's mine.

I too have a through living/dining/extension area. All in all 3 radiators. I have set up a LOUNGE zone, and then in SETTINGS made it a multi-room ZONE. Ive then added all 3 radiators to the zone.
I dont use the evohome controller or any thermostat for the LOUNGE, i just let the three HR91's regulate the temperature across the three rooms. Ive got a very nice consistent temperature now.

My experience is, that if you have three separated rooms, you can use multiple room option as described above and it works great. With the comment, the temperature reported on the screen is from first thermostat only. The rest works the same, but do not report temperature on main screen.
In case you have One big area with couple thermostats, multiple room option is not efficient. In my case it overheated the room. I set it to single room, with couple thermostats. The difference is, that with this option all works the same. If one is opened, all are opened etc. It is steered with temperature reported from first thermostat. The result in my case is much better in terms of temperature control.
