Weather Compensation/Optimisation - new feature preview?

It seems that my new ATC928G3000 arrived (from Evohome Shop) with a new Weather Compensation feature that I quickly lost access to. The controller had two options: Hot Weather compensation and Cold Weather compensation, with in-controller help for each one. The feature was called something like Weather Comfort or Weather Optimisation.
At around midnight last night, after just 12 hours ownership, the controller fully reset and put me back to the Welcome Wizard. I'd lost all the zones and relays I'd configured. Most significantly, the Weather Compensation is no longer present! After a quick Google and a check of the FAQ, it seems the feature does not officially exist!
I'm not sure if it's related but my controller arrived in Italian mode (I'm in the UK) and didn't present me with the expected Welcome Wizard. Unfortunately, I didn't check what firmware I was on before the reset, but afterwards, I'm on WiFi module: 02.00.17.00, Application module: 02.00.17.03 - which Honeywell suggest it the latest.
I can't be sure that the reset was not caused by the typical battery memory and the controller not being docked correctly.
So, did I have a pre-release firmware? Why did my controller reset itself? Did Honeywell force a roll-back? Does Italian language mode enable this feature?
It seems a shame, as the Weather Compensation Feature looks really useful. I enabled it for my two South-West facing rooms, which were already 4 degrees over temperature. On the controller, the configured rooms showed the set temperature to 5℃ instead of its configured schedule temperature, which I think is what open window detection does.
