BDR91 comms errors

Post by Mrbigfeet »

I regularly get displayed "comms fault, boiler relay".I clear the error and all is well.
However when I looked at the Fault Logbook, this fault is recorded every day at 13.09.
Well, the last two days it was 13.09 but the eight days prior was at 13.08 and the two days prior
To that was 13.07 and the previous day was 13.06. Obviously something is happening about that time every day but
I don't know what. It does not coincide with any switch point.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you solve this problem because I'm getting the same error at 19:18 every day?

My bdr91 binds up and then starts to flash red slowly but when the hot water comes on so is the heating and I have charged nothing in the year I have fitted it.
The system must have a bug or something?

There is no 'bug' and installation images always help where you have specific problems. :geek:

These errors are normally caused because you have bound the evohome system a certain way and haven't removed the existing bindings. So for instance, if you have setup the evohome Controller on an S Plan system using one BDR91 to control the heating motorised zone valve and one BDR91 to control the hot water BDR91, you don't have a 'wireless relay box' for your boiler control. Therefore if you are getting a 'comms fault, boiler relay' error, you need to tell the evohome Controller you don't have one by removing it from the BOILER CONTROL menu (select 'NONE') under SYSTEM DEVICES in the INSTALLATION MENU. 8-)

Just to add, this is an image we had from a customer with evohome 'issues'.

The CS92A and BDR91's are too close to each other. This will cause signal issues, as all the evohome devices transmit at the same time to the evotouch controller. If your systems have been installed in a similar way, this can be a cause of BDR91's with red lights on them. :geek:
