Hello all,
This is my first time visiting this forum. Hopefully I'll avoid any forum faux pas. I've looked for existing posts on this topic but can't find anything relevant.
I have an Evohome system, with radiators in most rooms, all controlled by the wireless TRV's.
In my kitchen, I have electric underfloor heating that is governed by a relay, controlled by a single zone thermostat (like this combination https://theevohomeshop.co.uk/honeywell- ... f2024.html). (There's also a very simple analogue thermostat this sits in-line with the electric underfloor heating, which is connected to an underfloor probe, which I can adjust to set how warm the floor gets.
It works reasonably well, but the kitchen is quite large and the cost of heating it with only the floor is eye watering. There are currently no radiators in the kitchen so I've bought one that is leaning up against a wall gathering dust whilst I pull my finger out.
What I need some help with, is how I should control this radiator. Is there a way to link the new radiator so that it's controlled by the same thermostat that's already in the kitchen controlling the floor (maybe by using a motorised zone valve)? Or, should I just buy another HR92 TRV valve head and have two independently controlled heat sources in the same room.
Given the cost of running the electric underfloor heating, I would like to maintain some low level of control over how and when that comes on. Though I guess I could do that even if it was on the same thermostat as the radiator, in that I can just switch it off on the wall, or set the analogue thermostat very low.
Keen to get any advice available on this please folks.
Thanks,
Dan
