System Summary

Post by Paul »

I have an occasional issue, where the heating can be set to off, all the HR92's are showing a valve position of 00, but yet the heating still comes on and off, checking the system summary, one of the zones is showing a percentage of heat call.
It is not one particular zone it can be any off them, removing the head and re-calibrating the unit to the valve instantly cures the problem.
Why should this be happening.
The valve bodies are new Honeywell Valencia, so should be fine.
This has happened again today and with the heating off so the set temperature is 8C the room was showing 22c, the valve position 00 and the system summary for that zone 39%
Re-Cal and the System summary 0% with in a couple off seconds and the heating stays off now

One other thing the HR92 in question today is only 2 metres from the controller and has a line of sight so the signal should not be an issue.

Any suggestions

Is the evohome Controller wall mounted and mounted on a metallic back box? Have you checked the valve base plate is not faulty? Take the batteries out the HR92 and let it reboot? Have you tried deleting the zone and repairing the zone?

The controller is wall mounted, but it is mounted on a plastic back box, if it happens again I will removed the batteries and restart the valve controller, I don't think the valve base is faulty, and then delete and reinstall the zone.

One thing I have just found which may be the answer.

The battery display showed 2 full bars so the battery appeared OK, but after a reboot the display still showed 2 full bars, the valve controller displayed sync, then when the controller was locked on the base, the valve cycle took place, but as the fully closed position was reached, the display went blank and the valve controller re-booted again.

The batteries were replaced and three bars were displayed and the valve cycle operation was completed with no issues, maybe the battery voltage dropped as the valve fully closed ??

Time will tell
