Is this setup possible?

Post by chrisbushy »

Hi,

I'm new to Evohome, but not to home automation.

Is the following setup possible as this would be the easiest for me to integrate to my home setup being all controlled by Cntrol4? If not please feel free to let me know a better way.

Boiler - Vaillant 938 with VR33 fitted
Boiler Control - Evohome Opentherm Interface
Evohome Controler - ATC928
Internet Access - RFG100
HCE80 - Upgraded to 8 Zones

Z1 - HCE80 Z1 - T87RF2033
Z2 - HCE80 Z2 - T87RF2033
Z3 - HCE80 Z3 - T87RF2033
Z4 - HCE80 Z4 - T87RF2033
Z5 - HCE80 Z5 - T87RF2033
Z6 - HCE80 Z6 - T87RF2033
Z7 - HCE80 Z7 & Z8 - T87RF2033

I have the above equipment and I'm in the process of setting it up today.

To control the two electric UFH zones & 1st-floor heaters can I add the following?

The following zones are controlling electrical heaters and need to not influence the Boiler i.e stat controls the local BDR91 only but still reports to the controller.

Z8 - BDR91 & T87RF2033 (To control electric UFH)
Z9 - BDR91 & T87RF2033 (To control electric UFH)
10 - BDR91 & T87RF2033 (To control electric wall heater 1st Floor)
11 - BDR91 & T87RF2033 (To control electric wall heater 1st Floor)
12 - BDR91 & T87RF2033 (To control electric wall heater 1st Floor)

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

Hi Chris,

Well firstly you are quoting non-UK specific part codes? HCE80 is not a UK part code and the RFG100 for the evohome system was discontinued some 3 years ago in the UK.

As this is a forum dedicated to 'The EVOHOME Shop' customers, any in-depth technical support will have to be directed to Honeywell - https://getconnected.honeywell.com/en/support

The old evohome Controller you reference is not capable of electric heating zones, especially when combined with wet system heating.

I hope that helps.
