Is there any possible way of getting the Evohome to switch a BDR91 as a zone using the scheduler without having to have some temperature sensor bound to it. I have the need to control the hot water on a combi boiler that just needs a 230v switched supply to switch on the water heating function, the boiler controls the water temperature independently.
I have looked through the Evohome installation guide and the hot water control in it insists that there is a temperature sensor to bind first before binding the BDR91, I know I could just by the cheapest temp sensor there is and set it to its highest temperature setting but it just seem such a waste when combi boilers are very popular that we cant control the hot water via the scheduler. Its an oil boiler so there is an internal heated tank in the boiler that provides instantaneous hot water whilst the oil burner fires up and start to heat, hence the requirement to schedule the time it's on & off, as during the late evening & night there is no reason to keep this small tank hot.
BDR91 control with no temp sensor needed
Re: BDR91 control with no temp sensor needed
The way the evohome system operates will not allow this. If you want hot water control, you need the evohome hot water kit (even if you don't fit the CS92A).
