Tip for hot water in large install with 2 boilers

I have a house with 2 boilers (needs 2 controllers), downstairs CH and DHW on one and upstairs CH on the second. The first controller has the DHW zone looking after the hot water temp and heating times as normal. I found that the hot water sensor can be bound to both controllers so the upstairs controller also sees the HW temperature. This in turn means that I can control a hot water circulating pump (there is a hot water loop around the house to reduce wasted water waiting for the hot water to arrive at a tap) using the otherwise spare water zone on the second controller.

Hi Eddie,

Double binding some evohome items can have a negative effect of the evohome operation. Certainly what you have done is what Honeywell would define as 'out of scope' and would not be technically supported by us or the tech support team at Honeywell.

In a situation like you have we would be recommending a second hot water kit should you want to operate a secondary return pump from the second controller.

Thanks,

Richard
