Min run time & cycle rate

Post by JAtherton »

Hi

Just installed my Evohome, and working well.

I see in the Evohome instructions that the "min run time" and "cycle rate" defaults to I minute and 6 cycles per hour. This is said to be ideal for a gas boiler. However I have an OIL boiler (Camray 5). There is also no guidance in the boiler manual as to recommended min run time and cycle rate. Does anyone know what settings I should be using with this oil boiler?

The evohome manual doesn't explain these functions, however the Honeywell manuals of old did! 8-)

If you have a look at the old Honeywell CM900 series manual, there is an overview of cycle rate and min run time on page 8 - http://www.honeywelluk.com/Documents/In ... f/1069.pdf

So for oil boilers Honeywell TPI control should be set to 3 cycles per hour and minimum on time of 4 minutes... 8-)
