pre purchase question

Hi,

I am looking to add the evo home to our system, its a Y plan system and I want to control both the water and heating

so i was looking at your value pack A, Plus an extra radiator valve as I have 9 rads to control

I have checked (via the WiFi kit ) and all the signals are 5 so I know that is good

I have checked all the radiator valves and they are OK (current have TRV 4 on them)

the questions I have before I purchase is

1) I have currently A Drayton LP722 programmer installed, now as far as I can tell the wiring diagrams look the same so could I just replace the timer with the wifi controller without any rewiring even the back plates look the same.
2) What do I do with the current thermostat, its a centaur 7 , do i leave it on permanent or do i remove it / replace it ?

thanks

Terry

Hi Terry

Have just done my install this week. You'll remove/blank the current controller and thermostat as they are no longer required. Everything is contained in the Evohome kit

The Evohome wifi controller has its own backplate (available as an optional extra). Looking at pics of the drayton is seems to bear no resemblance to the Evohome

Hi Terry,

evohome is designed to 'replace' existing heating system components.

The evohome Controller isn't designed or required to go where your old programmer once was... It is a centralised controller and my best advice is to centralise it between all the other RF devices, where ever that may be.

In an S or Y Plan system, the BDR91's normally just wire into the wiring center (but make sure the evohome RF devices are all correctly spaced apart from each other).

I hope that helps.
