EVOHOME CONNECTED PACK questions.....

First of all, sorry for my english. I´ll try to explain my doubts as good as I can.
I´ve just bought an EVOHOME CONNECTED PACK for my gas boiler. It includes an Evotouch controller and 4 HR924WE. I installed them all in my 4 bedrooms but in the rest of the house there is not controllers or HR924WE valves. The question is, how do the evotouch acts in the rest of the house without controllers. When do the controller start or stop?.
Other question is. Is it good to place the evotouch in a room with a HR924WE valve or it is redundant?.
Thank you in advance!!!

Hi,
The evohome Controller cannot be used as a standalone sensor in a room without HR92's, when you have HR92's in other parts of the house. If you want, you can use the evohome Controllers sensor in a room containing one or more HR92's and this can be useful when there are multiple HR92's in the room or the radiators are blocked by something.
I hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply,
I don´t understand at all. So why, when you are setting up a new room, do the evohome controller says "do you want your evohome controller controls the temperature of this room"?. I imagine that what it says is that you can use your evohome controller as a non smart thermostat in the room you place it.

You can have the controller in a room without an HR92, that's how mine is installed.
I have multiple zones: the first zone contains the controller and the remaining zones contain HR92s.

No you can't, plays havoc with the fuzzy logic...

It works and is even an option during the guided installation. The main limitation is the zone containing just the controller is always "on" whenever one of the HR92 zones is on, so that needs to be taken into account. Normal dumb TRVs can be used to stop other rooms without an HR92 overheating.

evohome doesn't accommodate for this in its logic or software... You have said it yourself, the room containing the controller will overheat when the HR92's are on. Trust me, it won't work properly like this and to say it will is misleading others. It was not designed to operate like this one HR92's were implemented into the system.
