Evo as hall sensor with HR92 in other rooms

Hi
I am sure I read somewhere the other day that it was advised unless you are using the Evo home controller (mk3) in a single zone configuration, you should avoid using the built in temp sensor to call for heat?

I have a combi boiler fitted with the BDR91 relay, and the Evohome controller is fitted in the hall (direct replacement for old stat).

I presently do not plan to fit a HR92 to the hall rad but I would like a way to control rads that I plan to keep as manual valves, or rads that I have yet to fit a HR92 to (12 so will be buying 4 packs when funds/wife allows)

Once I have started fitting HR92's and configured into zones, is it still possible to call for heat from the main controller itself in the 'Hall' zone?

Thanks

The configuration you want is not possible.

Once you have gone down the 'multi zone' route with HR92's in a situation like a combi boiler, any zone you want to control must be done with a HR92 on the radiator (even if you then use an external sensor such as the evohome Controller for that zone).

Rooms/zones that have no HR92 control will come on and off with another HR92 controlled zone.

A touch annoying but not the end of the world I suppose. I guess this has saved me a whole load of grief when it comes to setting it up in multi zone so there is that :)

Will probably fit a HR92 to the hall rad in that case so its 'compliant' with the multi zone requirement of evo, and my requirement for a "hall/core" zone.

Thanks for your guidance.
