Honeywell Connected Single Zone Thermostat

Post by Richard »

The Honeywell Single Zone Thermostat is a very underestimated thermostat and although simple looking, it is packed with advanced technology and is extremely capable! TPI Control, OpenTherm Control and the ability to be an App Controlled Thermostat (when using RFG100) just to name a few.

We mainly use the T87RF2033 (thermostat only) as a zone sensor with evohome, however it can be used in the following ways:

1. Single Heating Zone Thermostat.
2. Single Zone Connected Programmable Thermostat (using RFG100)
3. Two Zone Connected Programmable Thermostst (using 2x Y87RF2024 and 1x RFG100)
4. Single Zone OpenTherm Thermostat (T87RF2033 + R8810 OpenTherm Bridge)
5. Single Zone OpenTherm Programmable Thermostat (T87RF2033 + R8810 + RFG100)
6. 'Connected' Thermostat Upgrade for existing CM720, CM920 or DT92E users (simply buy a T87RF2033 & RFG100 and bind T87RF to existing BDR91 already fitted)

PLEASE NOTE - The Single Zone Thermostat cannot be used with an Oil Fired Heating Appliance!

Any questions about Honeywell Single Zone Thermostat, please let me know! 8-)

Hi,
I am Planning a two boiler System ( One old Vokera on one floor & anew Intergas HRE on two Other floors). I have had some good help in other parts of this forum.
i

I plan to add couple of "Single Zone"connected thermostats (Y87RF2024s ? ) where the HR92 Rad controllers are behind furniture etc.

This got me thinking.... I have two CM927 controllers and two CM67NG Controllers. These are all Honeywell intelligent TPI programmable room thermostats left over form old system. Surely I could use these in place of the Y87RF2024 (single zone thermostats) that I was thinking of, at least in the short term?

Has anyone got the knowledge to know if I can do this and if it will work in conjunction with the Opentherm controller too. ? Any pitfalls Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I think the answer to this has to be "yes" but before I place an order am I right assuming I can bind any number of T87RF2033s to the existing relay and then allocate them to rooms? I have one T87RF2033 but am thinking of another couple.

Thanks.

Hi
What is the difference between the single zone thermostats Y87RF (mentioned in the manual) and the T87RF (shown on your website)?
I take it either can be used with the Evohome controller, HR92 and BDR91 which I purchased from your shop recently
Thanks and Regards

Y87RF2024 is a pack containing 1x T87RF2033 and 1x BDR91.

T87RF2033 is just the thermostat on its own.

The T87RF2033 is a 'single zone thermostat' and can only be bound to one device. Multiple T87RF's cannot be bound to the same relay box.

What was the other question about CM927? This can be used as an OpenTherm thermostat directly with the Intergas ECO RF or with any OpenTherm boiler with the addition of the R8810 OpenTherm Bridge.

Thanks for clarification on the different numbers but...

But.. I presume I can bind more than one T87RF2033 to my Evohome Controller, say for one for each zone, which then controls the one BDR91 relay box via the Controller?
Sorry for what might be a stupid question !

You can, but you are posting in the Single Zone Thermostat thread, not the evohome area of the forum. This post was to give an overview of the Single Zone Thermostat as a stand alone device and not its application for evohome.

Its fine, I was just clarifying this was the SZT area hence there is no detail about evohome... 8-)
