Hi - what was the outcome of this? It's a neat feature if it does work as o.p. suggested. Thanks.

I'd be interested in the outcome too. I find that the offset doesn't seem to have any effect.
Current case: I have a room that is 20deg (according to my own thermocouple, which I guess could be wrong but I tend to trust as being pretty accurate) but the HR92 says it's 18. I've set the offset to +2 which I would have expected to either tick up the displayed temp by 2 degrees or to shut off the heating as the HR92 should be thinking the room is at 18+2 degrees. So far nothing has changed though

FYI - just ran a test this afternoon on same room. Room temp is stable at 21 and HR92 is set to and saying 19. exactly 2 deg less than the actual, which is coincidentally what the offset is set to. So it could be that the HR92 reacts to the offset but doesn't tell you, either via the display or the set point. If that's the case it's a bit poor and also doesn't tie in with other people's testing

I think it makes a difference: put an independent room thermometer in the room and play with the offset. My experience is that applying the offset makes a difference to the temperature sensed by the independent thermometer
