Hi
I have a Vaillant Ecotec Plus 637 (system boiler) in an 'S plan' configuration with 3 zone valves (DWH, CH + single room Underfloor with mixer valve). It is currently controlled by a Vaillant controller with weather compensation, which I really do not like and some external rooms also do not get properly warm as the room the thermostat is located get to temperature way before these rooms do. I have just purchased the following evohome kit from Richard and was hoping for some advice on how this should ideally be setup.
Evohome Opentherm bridge to be installed with a Vaillant Opentherm module.
DWH Kit
Single zone kit for underfloor
Evohome controller kit.
HR92s for all rads bar 3 bathroom heated towel rails.
After a quick chat with Richard, before ordering, the plan was to get my installer to rip out the Vaillant controllers and to install the evohome as per diagram 4 in the install manual. The installer is recommending that I would be better off keeping the 3 zone valves and using the BDR91 to control them. The reason for this was I have 3 towel rads without HR92s. This, from what I have read, seems to be conflicting with how Honeywell suggest when using the OT bridge.
Any advice on how this should ideally be installed would be very grateful.
Install advice required for new evohome with OT bridge
Re: Install advice required for new evohome with OT bridge
As per the advise on here, HR92's on all rads without motorised zone valves and a hot water motorised zone valve with the hot water kit.
