evohome System Overview

Gas Central Heating Boiler (Open Vent or System Boiler)
ATP921R3100 Connected Thermostat Pack (BDR91 controlling Heating Motorised Zone Valve or 3 Port Valve Heating wires)
ATF500DHW Hot Water Kit (BDR91 controlling Hot Water Motorised Zone Valve or 3 Port Valve Hot Water wires)
HR92 Radiator Controllers (normally on all radiators)

Thanks for the video in this set up with the bdr 91's controlling the ch and hw valves do you need another bdr 91 at the boiler?

Not if you are using the motorised zone valve end switches to 'switch' the boiler on. You can have 3x BDR91's on an S Plan or Y Plan, using one of them as the 'boiler control relay' (orange and grey wires of all motorised zone valves disconnected) and this is important to consider when using an oil fired boiler or heat pump that does not like being 'cycled' like a gas boiler is capable of and the 'cycle rate' and 'minimum on time' need adjusting.
