ATF600 Wall Dock Wiring

Post by cdkeeka »

Hi
Due to a solid brick wall, I will have to detach the power transformer from the ATF600 and put it in box somewhere near the skirting board.
The instructions do say that the supply can be installed in a different location from the unit with a low current power cable between the transformer and the ATF600.
However, the only low current power cable I can find (say in B&Q) is the one usually used for door bells.
Would that cable be suitable to use in this instance?
Some advice would be much appreciated please.
Thanks
.

Any two core cable is suitable (230v or DC), just ensure the core size is in compliance with the instructions depending upon its length! 8-)

And on the question of the wall dock I am getting regular main low 00 faults every time I touch the screen and consequently move the controller a fraction. When I check on the info sheet it says it is 4volts, and sure enough when I look in the box it is 4volts. My query is why does the desk stand say 5volts?

Sounds like the screws on the wall plate have been over tightened and the rear contacts are not making contact with the back of the controller correctly. My one at home works 100% and it's just over 4v DC. 8-)

My installer used c/sunk screws as the fixing which looked to me that distortion could be possible. I have put a washer under the screws to present even pressure, then tightened up secure,y but not overly tight.
Let's see what happens!

Looks like your suspicion was correct because here we are neArly a month later and not a single power dip according to the faults log. It didn't look as if it had distorted the rear plate, but obviously it had.
Well done to you!
