Hi,
I have just had an Evohome installed as part of a hot water upgrade, in a previous house I had s-plan and all HR92s (expect towel rails) and it worked as expected. Currently I cannot get my y-plan hyrid TRV/HR92 system to work correctly. It is not all HR92s because we are getting UFH in the future, so I only bought enough HR92s to cater for the rooms that won't get UFH later.
If I follow the Youtuve video about binding, https://youtu.be/UtbIt1oxe3I?si=_nHlvUeqE5z_PInt, the hot water configures ok but at the end of the setup I end up with a single zone that says it is unbound, even though I bound the heating BDR91. If I add any zones with my HR92s, obviously they dont create a call for heating from the BDR91.
If I try setting the system with a zone valve, then i get a zone that uses my Evohome controller to turn the heating on and off, but the other zones can't turn the heating BDR91 on, so only work if the Evohome controller zone is below temperature.
What I would like to end up with is a system where the Evohome controller is in a zone without any TRV, detects the 'general' temperature and turns the heating on and off for the dumb TRVs, and the HR92s are in rooms where we care about temperature and will demand heat when they need it (dumb rooms will be inadvertantly heated).
Is this possible? If so, what steps do I take?
Thanks
Steve
