Advanced Load Scaling

Is anybody else having problems with there system since the introduction of Advanced Load Scaling?

I really like the idea of it - reducing the flow temperature to keep rooms at the temperature that has been set without overshoots. But this isn't what our system is doing. All day today it has been a consistent 2 degrees below setpoint in our downstairs zone. In fact it never reached the setpoint this morning from optimum start.

I have tried both settings of advanced scaling, currently we are on partial. It was only changed over on the 4th of March, so I appreciate there is some learning to be had, but it worked really well over the weekend. Today it has gone backwards.

As I write this we are 2.5 degrees below setpoint downstairs and 3 below in one of the bedrooms. Boiler relay is at 47%, downstairs and the bedroom at 100%. Maximum flow temp on the boiler is 70 degrees. Surely the relay should be higher than that?

As I said I accept there is learning taking place due to the change, but I would have thought that the learning would have given us overshoots by 0.5, not the undershoots we are seeing.

I have toyed with purchasing an Opentherm bridge. The boiler was installed in July and I asked the installer at the time and he said not to bother as he knew about Load Scaling being introduced and it wouldn't make much difference. Boiler is an Atag Economiser 27 so I know its compatible. Is swapping a BDR91 for the bridge something that could be easily done, and would it actually be worth doing?

Unfortunately I have not had enough experience with the Load Scaling yet to comment, as we use OpenTherm here on the Intergas boilers.

If I were to go the Opentherm route would that be a change I could do on my own or should I get a heating engineer to do it for me. I'm no electrician

Did you ever resolve this? I'm experiencing the same issues.
