Getting 100% demand in a zone

Post by jweaver »

I am just in the process of installing my Evohome with a mix of HR80UKs and HR92s.

Its gone well, but the BDR91 keeps triggering.. I have looked in the 'system info' screen to see the "demand" and one of my zones shows 100%... But the temp in that zone is 23 degrees and the set point at 10.. So there should be 0% demand surely?

Does anyone know why I would be getting demand in this zone? Especially 100%?

I have now turned off everything, so every TRV is at 5 degrees and the controller knows that.. Yet the Demand for this zone is still 100%.. And the boiler keeps being triggered....

I have tried deleting the zone, but it didn't help.. And its odd that the other 11 zones all seem to work OK as they show anything from 0% upto 30%....

Which zone was it Jon? Easiest way is to contact Resideo technical support, and get them to investigate.

I've been having a similar problem, 7 out of 8 zones are working fine, but this 1 zone just keeps demanding 100%.

Setpoint 16, temp = 17.5, HR92 valve is closed, radiator cold... but still 100% demand.

I've found that manually overriding the temp on the HR92 to say, 15.5, fixes it and demand drops to 0%. However once you cancel the override, pretty much straight away it demands 100% again.

I tried unbinding the HR92, and changing it for a spare one, didn't work so not a fault with the HR92
I tried removing and refitting the HR92 to the valve, making sure it was properly seated and performed the CYCL procedure. Still no good
I tried removing the HR92, putting it in a different (non problematic) zone (eliminating the possibility of a reception/communication problem) and still demanding 100%
Since all the other zones are working ok I figured it can't be an issue with the BDR91

At wits end I tried moving the position of the controller, and so far seems to be working. My controller was on the hall table, next to the WiFi router. The two shouldn't interfere with one another, but given how flakey the Evohome wireless comms seem to be... Maybe.

The HR92 should send a 0% demand signal once it's closed the valve. So either it's not closing the valve fully, or the signal isn't getting through or garbled.

So we'll see how that goes and I'll let you know. May be worth a try for you too. Weird that all the other zones would be unaffected by this though.

**EDIT**
Worked for an hour or so, and now back to 100% demand again.

Just in case anybody else stumbles across this with the same problem. I think I've fixed it. Deleted the zone, and redone it again from scratch , and that appears to have done the trick.
