Room Stat in an Evohome house

Post by screamagain »

First post and I’m not ‘technical’.

I have an existing Evohome system of 8 HR92 valves, 1 BDR to control c/h only and the Evohome controller - no other controls on the boiler.

Additional to the HR92s I have 3 further radiators in the house - in the bathroom a panel radiator with a TRV and a towel rail with manual valve, and 1 radiator in the hall with a TRV. The HR92s are not in the hall or bathroom.

I’ve had a plumber at the house to do some non-boiler work and he was of the firm opinion that there should be a room stat to manage these 3 non-HR92 valves.

When the Evohome system was installed 6 years ago nothing was said about needing a room stat.

Is the plumber correct in what he said?

IMHO he is wrong.

Evohome needs to be in complete control

Thanks Lloyd

For Evohome to be in complete control, how does Evohome control these 3 rads even when not bound to the evohome system?

evohome doesn't work like this. If you want to use the smart TRV's on your system they need to be on all radiators imho.

Good to see your 'plumber' doesn't know anything about evohome.

I would suggest getting another plumber that does. :geek:
