Hi all,
I have been using Evohome with HR92 controllers for a few years now. So far so good, only a few glitches from time to time which are solved by recalibrating valves.
However this week I had a controller acting weird. It's in my office room and I don't heat that much so it's often set to 15 degrees (manual setting - I'm old school, not using programs). But then, for some reason, in the middle of the afternoon or middle of the night it started to heat, requesting 20 degrees (while it should stay at 15). This has happened 3 times now, and at different times. Turning it off and on again has not helped. I'm considering to replace the HR92 with a new one but it's not cheap so I was wondering if anyone had faced similar issue in the past ?
I was also wondering why going 20 exactly and I found out that "In case of a loss of connection with the evohome, the HR92 will keep the last position for 1 hour and then it will go into Communication Lost mode and set itself to 20 degrees" (source: https://support.resideo.com/s/article/W ... uage=en_US) so that could somehow be related...
Communication Lost mode ?
Re: Communication Lost mode ?
Is there a lost comms message in the central controller?
Re: Communication Lost mode ?
Thanks for your reply. No, there is no lost comms message in the central controller. Maybe the HR92 is losing sync a bit randomly, goes in Communication Lost mode, and then is correctly sync again after a while ? Then what I don't understand is why it stays at 20 degrees (i.e. Communication Lost mode value) and not goes back to 15.
Re: Communication Lost mode ?
Personally I would contact Resideo technical support and get them to see if they can see anything going on over the back end of evohome. Seems an odd one though.phs wrote:Hi all,

Thanks. FYI have changed the battery and seems it has solved the issue...

Re: Communication Lost mode ?
Well, the same issue unfortunately occured again on 28/11. So I deleted and created the zone again. I also installed a brand new HR92.
Then it happened again a few weeks later (09/12).
Any idea ? Right now the only idea I have is that there is a mirror not so far from the HR92 (see picture), which might cause intereferences (?!). Anyone faced sort of interferences before ?
(PS: have also contacted Resideo, they have re-sync system as well)

Re: Communication Lost mode ?
FYI latest Resideo advice has been to remove the batteries from the HR92 at any hour and 5 minutes (f.ex. 12:05, 1:05) for couple of seconds and plug them back.
They referred to potential "Ghost temperature" issue. Weird. Have strictly followed their advice, though.
