HR91 - Horizontal mount

Post by lloyd »

I have two radiators that currently have horizontally mounted TRVs. Is this going to affect performance of HR91s? I'm about to have the system drained, so if they need to be replaced, now is an ideal time to do it.

HR91's can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

You don't necessarily need to replace the valve in order to mount an HR91. Nine times out of 10, it'll fit direct or with an adapter, although I prefer to fit Honeywell valves anyway.

Thanks - that's one less task on the list.

This is really useful info. I also needed to know that it’s ok to mount them horizontally.
But this form can’t be accessed without creating an account.
Could you guys put this info somewhere else on the internet so it can be found more easily

The user instructions that come with them clearly show them fitted horizontally (we don't fit them like this in the UK normally, but the European market does) - https://homecomfort-techlit.resideo.com ... 1-uk07.pdf
