CS92 not reporting correct temperature

Post by eddiejl »

Have had Evohome system for a couple of years now. In that time, the CS92 has stopped reporting the correct cylinder temperature several times. The effect that the boiler goes on heating the hot water until the cylinder over-temperature valve starts to release water. I've read in this forum that this occasionally happens and the cure is to remove the batteries from the CS92 and put them back. The unit then reconnects to the controller and all is well - till the next time. There is no problem with the signal levels when checked and the controller just reports lost contact repeatedly but does not turn the boiler off because it retains the last known temperature.
Is there any fix for this software problem yet?

How is the equipment installed? Something must be causing the RF interference? Flat batteries in any of the other devices?

Nothing wrong with any of the other units. No battery problems with any of the units (yet!) - all up to scratch.
I'm sure I've seen several posts on this in the past, though I haven't seen anything recently. That's why I wondered if there had been a fix.

We have two systems, one running the downstairs CH (7 rads and UFH 2 zones) and the DHW (which has the problem). The second runs the upstairs CH (8 rads).
No problems other than the CS92.

Sorry, should have said self installed, with a lot of electrical installation experience.
