New Evohome + opentherm setup problem

Post by tobiowolabi »

I really need your help here. I just bought my Evohome set up. I am planning to attach HR92 to almost all the radiators in my house, 16 in all apart from the hallway radiator. I connected my R8810A to the opentherm terminals of my ideal H24 boiler (right beside the weather compensation terminals). It powered the bridged, binded correctly to the controller and TRV (only connected 2 for a start to see if I am doing the right thing), but not calling for heat at all. Is there something I am doing wrong here?
I live in a new home, current set up is 2 zones, one on the ground floor with Danfoss control including hot water, the other zone control middle and top floor with a wireless thermostat control.

Have you seen this?

https://idealboilers.com/uploads/docume ... _Guide.pdf

At the bottom of Page 3 it states...

"*Where the Ideal Touch kit is being fitted to an existing installation (S or Y plan), the wire connecting any SL IN on the boiler requires disconnecting and making safe. A link wire should then be connected into the SL1 L-IN connection at the boiler*. For further details refer to the boiler installation and servicing instructions. *Logic Heat H, Logic System S, Vogue Gen2 System"

Looks like you also have to put a link wire between the SL1 and L-IN connections as well as attaching to the OpenTherm connection?

Thank you for your prompt reply, I have done what you said, still not lucky. Do I need to remove the weather compensation wires? (I have tried that as well and returned it back). What about the existing Danfoss programmers?

If you are using OpenTherm with evohome there should not be any other heating controls working with the boiler?

I'm sorry, but I just don't know enough about the boiler you are trying to get this to work with, so I would suggest going back to Ideal for further guidance.
