Setting Maximum Flow Temperature (Ideal Vogue Boiler)

Post by matts430 »

Hi All,

I have recently had Evohome installed with an Ideal Vogue c32 Gen2 combi boiler - a fairly standard evohome install, with HR92s on each radiator and an R8810A1080 opentherm bridge at the boiler, controlled by an ATC928G3000.

The issue that I have been having is that the opentherm/evohome seems to 'overrule' the central heating maximum flow temperature set on the boiler. As a consequence when demand for heat is high, the flow temperature and consequently radiator temperatures is high (approx 80deg). For a variety of reasons - not least safety of children - I would prefer to be able to limit this temperature to a little lower.

Does anyone know if this is something that is possible with the hardware I have? Otherwise the only option I see is to swap the R8810 to a BDR91 (and lose the opentherm benefits) to allow the boiler to set flow temperatures.

Many thanks in advance.

Ideal messed up an didn't allow a max temp setpoint on any of the Ideal range when running on OpenTherm, hence this will happen.

I would suggest going back to the manufacturer and complain about this issue as it doesn't happen with Intergas boilers... ;)

I have recently had Evohome installed , in my new house, with an Minute xCP25 boiler - a fairly standard evohome install, with HR92s on each radiator and a kit KIT-EVO-600-OPE.

I have the same question. Is it possible to check the temperature limits of the water in the boiler from Evohome? or the system uses the arguments set on the boiler.
If it is not possible to change these limits. at what temperature were they set?
Thank you
Stefano
