Possible incorrect installation

Post by Gjackson1972 »

Good afternoon. I could do with a little advise since my gas installer who installed my new boiler also set up my Evohome system and I think he may have made a mistake in his settlings. I continually get boiler relay faults daily. So worried about RF signal I did an RF check and get interesting an interesting result every time. The Heat Demand reports as Excellent but the Hot Water “actuator (two way)” gives mixed results sometimes 1 Excellent & 1 Not received sometimes 1 Excellent & 1 Poor. Aren’t both of these messages going to the same unit? I don’t understand how one can be Excellent and the other be poor or even fail. I have double checked all positionings in line with the recommendations.

I was wondering if my actuator is even a two way actuator, is there any way to tell that easily?

Thanks in advance

Hi & thanks for responding. Does this help? Let me know if I need to provide any more info to help.

My system set up:
I have 2 x BDR91, 1 x hot water kit, one Evohome WIFI connected controller, multiple HR92 Honeywell smartTRV’s. My home has a boiler controlled by the Honeywell system but also through a seprate underfloor heating system which can independantly demand heat. Below are photos of the Honeywell devices, a screenshot of the System Summary (as requested) and also a photo of the valves being driven. Please ignore the red writing on the devices, this was something I added while trying to understand the system set-up and might be misleading.
All 3 wireless units are 50cm apart ie more than the 30cm minimum recommendation. The EvoHome unit is 20-30 feet away from them.

You have a 'wireless relay box' on the system summary page under boiler control when you don't have one fitted... Go to system devices and set the boiler control to 'none'... Problem fixed. 8-)
