T87RF without HR92

Post by MilkDawg »

I am going through a new setup at home and had an idea but not sure if the system will allow it.

I have 6 rads fitted with HR92s. The only one that doesn't have one fitted is the towel rail in the bathroom. I am happy with this setup as it keeps towels dry etc. I don't wish to fit a bypass as the boiler overrun lets you get a bit more heat from the towel rail after Evohome has told the boiler to turn off and closed all the HR92s.

So, with that in mind, it is possible to put a T87RF in the bathroom without a HR92, so if I set a temp and the bathroom falls below, the other valves will be shut, so when the boiler fires up, the only room to receive heat would be the bathroom?

Otherwise, if I only want the bathroom to get heat, I would have to turn up another zone.

Hope this makes sense.

The evohome system at each zone level requires a sensor and an actuator and there would be no way in doing this other than fooling the evohome Controller into thinking it had an actuator when it didn't. I don't recommend doing this as it will more than likely play havoc with the fuzzy logic and learning algorithms for the fake zone you create.
