HR92 zones requesting heat

Post by Mark »

Hi

I've got a new evohome controller running with a few HR92s. I'm having an issue overnight though. The temperature in one of the rooms with an HR92 drops at night and approaches its setpoint, but doesn't go below it. I think the controller turns on the boiler because of this room (none of the others are close to their setpoints), but the HR92 hasn't opened, so the boiler ends up running for ages but the room isn't warming. Sometimes it'll sit like this for an hour, until either the temperature drops enough for the HR92 to open, or the temperature rises.

How can I stop this?

Have you checked the HR92 calibration is correct?

The temperature calibration is set to -3.

I meant the physical valve calibration on the valve base plate...

Based on what you have said in the other forum, it won't work correctly as you have it configured...

The location of the controller has nothing to do with it.

This is about the boiler coming on before the temperature in an HR92 zone has reached the set point and so before that HR92 has opened its valve. This is the only zone even remotely close to the set point.

Your missing the point, the behaviour you are experiencing is because of the way you have setup your evohome system. I have seen this many times when people have tried to setup the system the way you have. Contact Honeywell and explain to Tier 3 tech support what you have done and they will tell you the same...

I do not know your setup, but in mine I experienced the following:
- requested temperature on HR92 18 degrees,
- actual temperature 17.5 degrees,
- boiler running,
- HR92 reported valve position 36,
- radiator remains cold.

The valve controlled by the HR92 is not a Honeywell product.

I was able to to correct the behavior by setting stroke to 1 (full stroke) in the HR92 menu.
