Rebinding help

Post by davidj »

My system seems to have recently lost communication to the ATF500DHW. I now get a slow flashing RED light and need to manually press the button to turn the hot water on and off.
The system displays the temperature accurately so some communication must be occuring. I also do NOT get any wireless comm lost on the controller.
I am assuming I need to rebind the unit again but not sure how to. I read something that says press button for 15 secs, then again for 5 secs and press the bind button on the controller. I have entered the engineer mode on the controller (hold settings for 3 seconds) but see no bind option. I am also conscious of not deleting any existing setting.
Help much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi David,

Any chance of a picture of the relay box installation (wide angle shot please).

I have moved this to the customer area to help you.

Thanks,

Richard

Hopefully this is the relay box. It seems to be where a wire from the flashing unit is wired into.
Thanks

Hi David,

That is the wiring centre... Could I have a distance shot (not close up) of the BDR91 Wireless Relay Box where the red flashing light is occurring please?

Thanks,

Richard

Its the box on the left. NB this has been working fine for over a year so seems strange that it should now have a comms issue. Nothing has moved. Appreciate help.

Thanks David... 8-)

They seem separated OK, so has anything changed the evohome Controller end (moved its original position or other RF device cordless phone, BB router, etc too close)?

Superb, thank you, after doing a reset 15secs and 5secs press I now have a solid red light. I have had some issues that I thought were causing problems with other wireless devices so I bought a 5G /2G router as I suspected my cordless phone had started causing problems. I had moved most devices to the 5G band though unfortunately Evohome hasnt got 5G. I also reconnected the phone after (I assumed) the problems had been solved.
I guess the Red light (with occasional blinking green) means it is now ok? I have activated the hot water ON but as yet see no increase in temperature. Does all seem to be working now, based on light activity?

Sorry should have checked boiler first. No activity there though I must be making headway as I now have a solid Red light.

Solid red light is not good, it means RF comms failure? Either no light or green light is normal operation mode... Have you seen the video in the Customer Video Area?

Is there a reset process? If I press the button it does allow for the hot water to be controlled manually.
