Thanks for the response. I would be happy with an old-fashioned (i.e. non-electronic - using wax?) valve. Although this would work fine in winter when the GCH is on a lot of the time, it won't work in summer when the smart valves aren't triggering the boiler.

Is there any way to tell the evohome ...

We've had the Evohome system for a year now and have had no problems with the valves at all *except* for the one in our shower/wet room: two radiator valves have failed so far. I thought it would be OK as there is good ventilation via an extractor fan and the radiator is well away from direct ...
